Legal Advisor
Job Description
- Assist in providing continuous leadership, supervision, training, and development of Department staff ensuring an effective and motivated team.
- Assist in reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, including client, supplier, and service provider agreements.
- Review internal policies for legal compliance and support the drafting and approval process for new or revised policies.
- Examine company documents and agreements to identify legal implications and propose risk mitigation strategies.
- Support legal risk identification and mitigation in ongoing and potential contractual relationships.
- Prepare, revise, and manage standard contractual instruments used across the business.
- Monitor ongoing litigation matters and assist in managing communication with external legal counsel.
- Provide legal research and interpretations on corporate, contractual, and regulatory matters.
- Draft legal opinions, memoranda, and briefing notes for internal use.
- Liaise with internal departments (e.g., Procurement, HR, Operations) to support legal aspects of business activities.
- Coordinate with external counsel to ensure legal matters are efficiently and effectively managed.
- Assist the Legal Manager in advising departments on contract obligations, regulatory compliance, and legal documentation.
- Support in delivering legal awareness and training sessions to internal teams.
- Communicate legal updates, risks, and documentation statuses to relevant internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Provide required legal advice.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Law or equivalent with (2) years of experience.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred.
