Field HSE Advisor (Omani Only)
Job Description
Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Assists Rig management in the implementation of safety requirements, including statutory requirements, Company policies and procedures, client requirements in liaison with the HSE Department, and industry best practices.
- Assist in implementing Corporate and Client HSE Program.
- Assists the Unit Manager in administration of the onsite training/awareness programs as per Training matrix.
- Assist in implementing all safety initiatives introduced to the Rig.
- Assist in conducts risk assessments of work in coordination with the Unit Manager and facility supervisors; regularly checks that necessary safety precautions are followed.
- Reviews and comments on Job Safety Analyses performed by others. Assists in development of Job Safety Analyses as required.
- Works with the crews to improve safety standards and practices by participating in tool-box talks, risk assessments, inspections, audits, and incident investigations; sets a personal example.
- Monitor the implementation of Permit To Work System and Isolation.
- Conducts internal audit for PTW, TRIC, JSA and Journey Management plan as per defined frequency.
- Attend daily QHSE meeting on Site.
- Performs incident investigations and completes, maintains, and disseminates required accident reports.
- Maintains and reports statistical records of all reportable incidents and accidents; maintains government-mandated safety files and records.
- Participates in weekly and pre-tour safety meetings. Present HSE statistics, Safety Alerts , other information received from town and Client during Weekly HSE meeting.
- Monitor close out of NCAs and other action items related to HSE.
- Ensures mandated posters are exhibited in the proper places; ensures ERP plans are maintained and posted.
- Responsible to provide training/awareness session as and when required.
- Provides Rig safety inductions for employees, visitors, regulators, and service personnel.
- Perform hygiene inspections along with MEDIC and reports any potential health risks and concerns.
- Assists in coordination of the activities of persons involved in rescue efforts.
- Assists in the execution of the facility Emergency Response Plan and oversees that the procedure is performed in a safe and controlled manner.
- Performs other duties and special projects as requested by management.
- Ensure that required safety inspections are carried out/witnessed as per defined inspection program and findings are reported to Unit Manager and DS.
- Actively participate in Abraj's STOP card reporting program and encourage others to do so.
- Send daily field report to Head Office HSE department on Daily basis.
Competencies Required (Knowledge, Skills & Behavioral Traits):
- Shall have the ability to conduct HSE inspections and audits and will have proven training ability in incident prevention.
- Shall have the ability to conduct HSE Presentations.
- Ability to conduct incident investigation and identify underlying causes.
- Knowledge of health, Safety and Environment requirement, rules regulations and ability to monitor compliance.
- Be fully conversant with Client HSE documents and Emergency procedures.
- Excellent analytical skills and problem detection abilities.
- Strong leaderships skills that help take up responsibilities and be accountable.
- Ability to identify occupational threats and inconsistencies within the system.
- Responsible to guide the organization on HSE regulations and its applications.
- Determine the internal health and safety policies and control measures for organization.
- Identify the activities and processes that have the potential to harm life and property.
- Inspection of site, tools, and equipment, and Managing Team Training Matrix and courses booking.
Qualifications:
- Secondary School Diploma.
- 5+ years oil and gas industry.
- 4+ years in similar position / Similar Scope of work.
- NEBOSH IGC or Equivalent certificates.
