Abraj Energy Services Partners with Oman Energy Association (OPAL) to Launch HSE Practitioner Program

Muscat, September 4th — Abraj Energy Services, Oman's leading oil and gas services provider, is pleased to announce its partnership with the Oman Energy Association (OPAL) to launch the HSE Practitioner Program. The groundbreaking initiative aimed at advancing health, safety, and environmental standards in the energy sector.A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been inked by Eng. Saif Al Hamhami, CEO of Abraj Energy Services, and Eng. Mohammed Al-Naabi, CEO of OPAL.

The collaborative partnership marks a significant step toward enhancing industry standards and aligns with Abraj Energy Services' commitment to fostering in-country value. By advancing Oman's strategic development priorities, Abraj is dedicated to enhancing local capabilities and contributing to the sustainable growth of Oman's social and economic development.

Commenting on the MoU, Eng. Saif Al Hamhami, CEO of Abraj Energy Services, said, “Our partnership with OPAL reflects our shared commitment to building a safer and more sustainable future for the energy sector. The HSE Practitioner Program will not only develop skilled professionals but also align with Oman Vision 2040 by fostering operational excellence and sustainable growth."

Eng. Mohammed Al-Naabi, CEO of OPAL, stated, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Abraj Energy Services on this important initiative. The MoU signed today highlights our dedication to empowering the next generation of energy professionals with the knowledge and best practices essential for advancing safety and efficiency in our industry.

Over the next 18 months, 32 candidates will receive practical training at Infitech, Abraj's training center. The program will focus on providing these future professionals with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in the energy sector.

The HSE Practitioner Program aligns with Oman Vision 2040 by preparing future Omani professionals to contribute to the country's economic development, drive innovation, and support sustainability in the energy sector. Abraj Energy Services is proud to contribute to Oman's strategic objectives and looks forward to the positive impact this program will have on the energy industry and the broader community.

Abraj Training Center (Infitech) has a proven track record of delivering successful training programs that contribute to a well-trained workforce in Oman. To date, Infitech has completed similar programs for 18 candidates under the OPAL HSE Apprenticeships program and 109 candidates in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering disciplines in collaboration with major oil and gas companies in the industry. These efforts demonstrate our ongoing commitment to developing national talent and enhancing the capabilities of Oman's workforce.​

The project's planning, which took place in the Nimr Oil Field, began in 2022 in collaboration with the Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). The drilling was initiated in 2023 before the successful completion in May 2024.
