Showcasing Innovation, Safety, and Sustainability in the Oil and Energy Industry

Abraj Energy Services, Oman's leading oil and gas services provider, participated in the 2024 IADC Drilling Middle East Conference and Exhibition as the platinum sponsor to showcase its competitive solutions, innovative technologies, commitment to safety, and leadership in advancing the oil and energy industry.
Held under the patronage of H.E. Mohsin Al Hadhrami, undersecretary of Oman's Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the conference and exhibition took place from December 10–11, hosted by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) in collaboration with the Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL). Abraj's participation emphasized its role in promoting sustainable practices, innovative solutions, industry insights, and the development of local talent within the oil and energy sector.
Abraj contributed significantly to the annual event by engaging speakers and participants in panel sessions and technical workshops. Key topics included enhancing drilling and maintenance efficiency, maximizing local content and in-country value, and safety standards in drilling performance. In addition, Abraj emphasized fostering emerging local qualified personnel to contribute to innovation development in drilling.

Among Abraj's key contributions, Dr. Ilyas Ahmed, HSE Manager, participated in the panel session on “Advancing Safety Performance with New Methods and Technologies." Saud Al Ghafri, Drilling superintendent, presented a paper entitled “Agile and Innovative Approach for Conducting Drilling Rigs' Annual Maintenance with Minimal Impact on Operations," highlighting Abraj's best practices in the field. Moreover, Salah Al-Harthy, Director of Business Development & Well Services Division, moderated the panel session on “Maximizing Local Content and In-Country Value." Ismail Al Habsi, Training Drilling Superintendent, discussed Abraj's role in supporting the local market with qualified personnel in the industry in the panel session on “Attracting the Young Generation."
