We have never drilled a well in an empty desert.
Oman's deserts harbour the Arabian Oryx, the Sand Gazelle, and falaj waterways older than the oil industry itself. In 2025 we drilled more wells than ever before and reduced our total carbon footprint by 11%.
More output. Less carbon. The discipline behind the numbers.
In mid-2024, our engineering team developed the Smart Fuel Advisory System, a proprietary analytics platform that optimises diesel use across our operations.
7.2% less diesel per well — deployed across357 wells in 2025 and recognised with the OPAL Environmental and Sustainable Energy Excellence Award from the Oman Energy Association.
In 2025, we launched the Engine Performance Optimizer with OQEP, delivering a further 5% fuel reduction during its pilot phase. Automation across six rigs also reduced non-productive time to below 1% of operational hours.
81% progress to 2030 GHG target — 17 of 21 percentage points achieved, ahead of midpoint timeline.

“What works for our bottom line works for Oman’s environment. Those two things were never in competition. We just needed to prove it.”
Saud Al Ghafri, Drilling Superintendent, ABRAJ Energy Services

Three pathways. One direction.
1
Fuel Switching
We are designing a pilot programme to transition prime movers to lower-carbon fuel alternatives on rigs operating close to gas infrastructure. This pathway is currently in engineering feasibility, with two rigs selected for the initial phase.
2
Facility Electrification
3
Solar Integration

We share this landscape with species that exist nowhere else on Earth.
ABRAJ operates on client-designated drilling sites, where environmental permits, site selection, and biodiversity assessments are managed by site owners. Within our role as a drilling contractor, we support environmental protection by complying with environmental management plans and permit conditions at all sites, minimising operational footprint through efficient rig layouts, operating spill prevention and containment systems that protect soil and groundwater, and applying waste controls that prevent contamination.
In 2025, ABRAJ recorded zero incidents of environmental non-compliance.

The air and water we return to the land around us.
We recorded zero uncontrolled releases to land, water, or air in 2025.

Covers all regional bases, logistics hubs, workshops, and support facilities. This scope ensures our environmental management system applies equally where our carbon is stored, moved, and serviced. Dual-scope ISO 14001 is exceptional in Oman’s oilfield services sector.
