In mid-2024, our engineering team developed the Smart Fuel Advisory System, a proprietary analytics platform that optimises diesel use across our operations.
7.2% less diesel per well — deployed across 357 wells in 2025 and recognised with the OPAL Environmental and Sustainable Energy Excellence Award from the Oman Energy Association.
In 2025, we launched the Engine Performance Optimizer with OQEP, delivering a further 5% fuel reduction during its pilot phase. Automation across six rigs also reduced non-productive time to below 1% of operational hours.

Fuel Switching
We are designing a pilot programme to transition prime movers to lower-carbon fuel alternatives on rigs operating close to gas infrastructure. This pathway is currently in engineering feasibility, with two rigs selected for the initial phase.

Scope 2 emissions have already fallen 31.1% through efficiency improvements.

Solar Integration
ABRAJ has completed detailed feasibility assessments for solar and battery hybrid power at remote basecamps under the Estidama Phase 4 roadmap. Procurement is under review as the company evaluates solar power for remote basecamps, aligned with Oman's National Energy Strategy.
Nature and BiodiversityWe share this landscape with species that exist nowhere else on Earth.
ABRAJ operates on client-designated drilling sites, where environmental permits, site selection, and biodiversity assessments are managed by site owners. Within our role as a drilling contractor, we support environmental protection by complying with environmental management plans and permit conditions at all sites, minimising operational footprint through efficient rig layouts, operating spill prevention and containment systems that protect soil and groundwater, and applying waste controls that prevent contamination.
In 2025, ABRAJ recorded zero incidents of environmental non-compliance.

Water Stewardship
Oman has an arid climate and faces real water scarcity, so we manage water carefully across our operations.
In 2025, we withdrew 521,203 m³, consumed 443,022 m³, and returned 78,180 m³ within permit conditions.
Waste Management
We track every cubic metre under ISO 14001 and GRI 303.
We produced 1,920 tonnes of waste in 2025, of which 665 tonnes were hazardous and managed by licensed contractors under PDO and MECA standards.
