ABRAJ Energy Services operates at the heart of Oman's energy economy, providing the drilling, well services, and integrated field solutions that enable national oil and gas production across Oman and Kuwait. As a publicly listed Omani company with 27 drilling rigs, 5 workover rigs, and a workforce that is 93 percent Omani, ABRAJ is more than an energy services contractor. It is a national institution with a responsibility that extends from the wellhead to the wider community, from operational performance to the development of Omani talent, suppliers, and local capacity that strengthens the country's economy for the long term. That responsibility takes shape through Project Estidama, ABRAJ's structured programme for embedding sustainability into every aspect of how the company operates, decides, and grows.

Not every achievement fits neatly into a report. These three moments from 2025 tell the ABRAJ sustainability story better than any set of metrics alone.

The first ICV Certificate in Oman — and the 21 projects behind it

In November 2025, ABRAJ became the first company in Oman to receive independent certification of its in-country value contribution. The 28.2% ICV Index, verified by IBN HAYAN Chartered Accountants, reflects our Omani workforce, local procurement, SME spend, community investment, and supplier development. It is backed by 61 suppliers developed, 21 community projects funded, and OMR 150,000 invested in communities near our operations.

We achieved record output with a lower footprint. Our in-house Smart Fuel Advisory System won the OPAL Environmental Award and transformed diesel use across the fleet. We are already 81% toward our 2030 target. In 2025, we drilled more wells than ever while achieving our lowest-ever emissions intensity of 0.60 tCO₂e per operating hour.

From 65% to 100% Omani senior management in one year

This milestone was not a restructuring, but the result of a decade of deliberate investment in talent. In 2025, we delivered 60,672 training hours and maintained 93% Omanisation across 2,498 employees representing 21 nationalities. This talent pipeline made the historic shift possible and continues to develop the next generation of Omani energy leaders.

Estidama — our sustainability programme — is structured around three interdependent pillars. Each one supports the others. None stands alone. Guided by Oman Vision 2040 and aligned with our Net Zero 2050 commitment.

Protect the Land. Decarbonise the Work

We operate in some of Oman's most sensitive desert ecosystems. Our obligation is to leave them better than we found them — through ISO 14001 environmental management, emissions intensity reduction, water stewardship, and zero tolerance for uncontrolled releases.

Build Omanis

93% Omanisation. 100% Omani senior management. 60,672 training hours. OMR 150,000 in community investment. The National ICV Certificate — first in Oman. Our social obligation is not just to employ Omanis. It is to develop them, supply from them, and invest in the communities they call home.

The Estidama Journey

A direction that does not change.

2022

Foundation

We launched the Estidama framework and set our GHG baseline. We formalised our Omanisation target, scoped the ICV programme, and began dual-scope ISO 14001 assessment. This was the year we committed to a long-term direction, not just a reporting cycle.

2023

Systems Built and Certified

Achieved independent ISO 45001 certification and launched Scope 3 measurement for the first time. Enrolled the first cohort of Omani suppliers in the ICV development programme.

2024

Momentum Established

Maintained zero lost time incidents, achieved 93% Omanisation, and recorded OMR 16 million in SME spend. Delivered over 2,400 training programmes and reached a record 75% employee engagement.

2025

Record Outcomes

Drilled 357 wells, cut total GHG emissions by 11%, and reached 100% Omani senior management. Became the first company in Oman to receive the National ICV Certificate and won the MAJD Award.

2030

Our Target

Committed to a 21% GHG reduction against the 2021 baseline, pursuing facility electrification, solar integration at remote basecamps, and sustained 100% Omani senior management, aligned with Oman's Net Zero 2050 ambition.
